The missionary challenge this week is a little different.
We have been asked to prepare ourselves for General Conference.
Please take the time to ponder what it is you need answers to. Take the time to review conference talks from the past and spiritually prepare yourself for an uplifting weekend full of wisdom and love from our leaders. Invite those around you (members and non-members alike) to watch, listen, and read with us.
Sunday is International Hawaiian Haystack Day (Google it). So, we're having a Hawaiin Haystack Potlock but since only 8 people signed up, we really need your help so we can make this a tasty success! This is when you ask, "Self, what did I sign up for? Self, what can I bring?” Here are some great suggestions for much needed items (we need enough for 180 so think big):
For the Sisters: Tonight is the annual Relief Society broadcast
and I hope we're all planning on attending! We'll have dinner and a fashion review before the broadcast, so come prepared to be fed- physically, spiritually, and fashionably! It promises to be a fun and rewarding evening, so grab your roommates, family, or visiting teachees and join us at the Alta building at 4:15pm (11400 S and 1000E). See you there!
FHE tonight starts at 7:30pm at the church on 300 east and 11600 south.
We will be doing a photo scavenger hunt, so bring your camera or phone and we will team up to see who can get the most interesting photos. Come join for an evening of fun!
There are no regular ward services, so don't show up at 9am for priesthood or relief society. We will be meeting in our regular building (the alta building) for the 12pm session.
PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY!
You must be in your seat by 11:30am. Please remember that the building is a extension of the temple so come with your quiet voices, your green ticket and a white handkerchief.
If you can't make the session at noon, feel free to attend the 3pm session instead.
Please be aware that we are cleaning the church building
as a ward after the ropes course activity tonight.
The more helping hands, the easier the load. Even if you were not at the ropes course you can certainly come help clean the church building. That very building will be an extension of the temple tomorrow, so it's quite an honor to be cleaning it tonight. We thank you for your help in advance.
Come help with gardening at Beehive Clothing (3880 W 1820 S) this Saturday(the 22nd of September) from 9am to noon.
There will be a carpool at the Alta Building at 8:15am or you can meet us there. The service project wil take place rain or shine so come dressed for the weather and make sure it is within church standards. Gloves and tools will be provided so just worry about bringing a smile on your face and your helping hands!
Have you ever wanted to swing through the trees, race down a zip-line, take a leap of faith onto a high flying trapeze, calm an upset seesaw with 15 people on it, or laugh hysterically with a great group of friends? Well this activity will provide something for everyone (including plenty of on-the-ground activities for those who aren't so sure about heights).
Come master the obstacles (and your sense) with the best group of people. I can think of no better way to spend a beautiful Fall day than getting to know new friends in an adventurous place.
Please RSVP. Everyone is welcome so invite your friends and those who you think would enjoy the activity.
