Service Activity

There is a great service Activity at the Adult Detox Center (252 W Brooklyn Ave SLC, 84101) tomorrow (Saturday) at 4:30pm. Meet at the church at 3:30pm to carpool. We will be feeding those there and afterward we will play games and do a Christmas program.

Combined Ward Activity

Tonight we're having a combined Ward Activity with Crescent Park Ward. It will be at 7:00 at the Alta building.
We're serving a full Thanksgiving dinner and holding a service auction. Our objective is to raise money for a family in need. All money raised will be contributed toward that family’s Christmas.
You can help in two ways: 1) Submit an item or an act of service for auction and/or 2) Participate in the service auction by purchasing items offered by others.
These acts of service could range from anything from washing someone’s car to giving a free pottery lesson. If you can’t think of an act of service you can also offer an item. This could be a scrumptious baked good or that brand new pair of PF Flyers you’ve never worn. The options are endless! Please post here if you have an item you would like to auction. You do not need to be present to sell an item. If you're planning to buy an item tonight it would be best to bring cash or checks. Thank you!!!

Stake Conference

Hey everyone! We will be having Stake Conference this upcoming Sunday (Nov. 17th). Stake Conference will begin at 10am and go until 12pm. We have been asked to be there and in our seats ready to receive the messages that have been prepared for us at 9:40am! Also in preparation for Stake Conference we have been challenged to watch the CES Devotional that was broadcast on Nov. 3rd. I have attached the link to this post so that all will have the opportunity to watch the wonderful message Brother Osguthorpe shared. I am also extending a challenge to all of you as members of our ward, please spread the word!! We have a short amount of time to spread the word about this and I would love for every member of the Ward to know of this wonderful opportunity we have to participate in Stake Conference this next Sunday! A great way to spread the word to all members of the Ward is through Home and Visiting teaching. So get in contact with those who you teach and share the message that Bro. Osguthorpe taught and invite them to come join you in what I know will be an amazing opportunity to feel of the spirit and learn about our loving Father in Heaven. Submit to the Lord's will and invite all to come unto the Lord I know we will all be blessed for our efforts!

Hey ward!! FHE tomorrow night will be a hike/walk around Silver Lake up Big Cottonwood canyon. Meet at the church at 6:45 so we can leave by 7 to get up there before it gets too dark. We will have treats as well! See you all tomorrow!

Stake Conference

STAKE CONFERENCE TONIGHT AND TOMORROW! Priesthood session is at 4pm at the church building by Home Depot. The adult session will be at 5:30pm at the same building. 

Tomorrow we get to go to the conference center!! The Sunday session begins at 10am, but we need to be in our seats by 9:40am. You don't need a ticket to get in, so don't worry about that!

Spread the word! We wouldn't want people showing up for our normal 9am church only to discover the rest of us aren't there.

Ward Council Training

WARD COUNCIL MEMBERS! Don't forget about the training tonight! 7pm at the Draper Corner Canyon Stake Center (13400 S. 1300 E. - same place we played softball). Please read chapter 4 and 5 of handbook 2 (read it online here: http://www.lds.org/handbook/handbook-2-administering-the-church). We have also been asked to bring a copy of the handbook and our scriptures to the meeting.

Ward Temple Day

Ward Temple Day tomorrow, 8am at the Draper Temple! Because there is a new movie, the temple sessions begin right on the hour. For those doing a session, please arrive a little after 7am. Those who will be doing baptisms should meet in the baptistry at 8am.

Meet at 7pm at the church building near Juan Diego (300 E. 11600 S.) Tour begins at 7:30pm. We will be playing basketball and volleyball out front afterwards.

-Amber can pre-register visitors to speed up the check-in process. Leave a comment on facebook if your planning to come but didn't sign the sheet at church.

-Everyone will have to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon arrival.

-We can park in designated visitor parking as we'll as unmarked stalls.

-We will be climbing a lot of stairs so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Second Tournament Game

Softball Tournament

ATTENTION: All those playing softball.

As you know, we will be having practice tomorrow @ 5:30 at Lone Peak Park. We are trying to finalize our roster, so if you are planning on playing, PLEASE be at the practice. Even if you can only make it for a little bit or show up late, please try to show up. We will be going over certain situations and going over the new rules. Those who just want to come play and help us practice are welcome as well! 

Our First Game will be on Tuesday at 7:15. Be at Cottonwood complex (4300 S. 13th East) at 6:45. We need our full team there 15 minutes early or we will not be able to play (rules) so... BE THERE EARLY! 

If... I mean when we win, we will continue our bracket play on Wednesday! Come support

Softball Update!

Our ward has been chosen to go to the Region Tournament. There are quite a few new rules, so be sure to look over those. We will be having a practice on Monday before FHE! All those who are possibly going to play need to sign a roster. Any questions, let us know! Game will be on Tuesday, we'll keep you all updated!

Summer Institute Has Ended

Hey just a quick reminder to everyone that institute has ended for the summer, but don't you worry it will start back up again the week of the 26th!  Mark your calendars!!

Hawaiian Luau

Hey everyone! FHE for tomorrow, August 5th, is a Hawaiian Luau!! It will be at the 347 building at 7PM! (The 347 building is the one across from Dimple Dell, west of the methodist church). It is a Luau theme so wear something Hawaiian if you would like, but definitely something you don't care gets wet. . It will be a blast, so hope to see you there!!

Clean the Draper Temple!

The Draper Temple is closed for cleaning until August 19th. We have two cleaning opportunities, both this week. Volunteers must be endowed members and must bring their temple recommend with them. You do not need to show up in Sunday dress.
